When approaching a shoot, my mind is filled with questions like, How will this make someone feel? What memory will they hold onto from this? 

Photography, for me, started as a way to preserve memories, moments I didn’t want to lose. I have never had the best memory so my camera became the tool that helped capture those precious moments through photos and videos. What started out as saving memories for myself  became something more meaningful I was able to share with friends and family.

As time went on, this passion changed in an unexpected way. What initially started out as a favor, taking photos for my friends in cosplay, became the path I decided to follow. Going down this path, I gained an appreciation for dedication and creativity behind not only their work but cosplay as a whole. After editing the photos and seeing how happy they were with the results really resonated with me. I wasn’t simply taking photos but I was capturing something meaningful to them and that’s what clicked with me. Being able to create something that others will fondly remember and look back on is a satisfying feeling.

Growing up I was always inspired by the media I consumed like video games and animation and it remains a big part of my life. The people behind those worlds shaped me to be creative myself, leading me to do so through my photography. What those people created is connected through my work as the people who cosplay become those very characters they made. It all comes full circle for me but I know there is more in store for me. Those creative minds guided me down this path and now let’s see where else this path will take me.
